Vinted Users Express Frustration About Size Changes
Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing.
This online marketplace has altered its size classifications for women's and children's garments but did not contact all users about the change.
Digital Channels Backlash
Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing due to the recalibration.
The platform stated the revised method more closely matches similar services.
The platform has recommended to check their listings and manually change the size if necessary, resulting in member annoyance.
Measurement Approach Modifications
Earlier, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.
Shopper Experiences
Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said.
Required Changes
Another shopper, located in England, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing".
"This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated.
Marketplace Information
The service features exceeding 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: previously, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
